What is Enky?

Welcome to ENKY, a furniture company engaged in the preservation of our planet. 🌳

‍

We're crafting flexible solutions - rental, circular purchase - for all kinds of moods. Whether you're at home or at work, we'll always ensure that you are comfortably furnished. All the pieces listed are produced in Europe, and were chosen for their high-quality and timeless design.

Do I qualify to be an investor at Enky?

To qualify as an investor at Enky, you must have a company number registered in one of the following countries: Belgium, France, Luxembourg, Germany.

How does furniture rental work?

At ENKY, we facilitate access to quality furniture through flexible rental!

How does it work?
Renters - companies, individuals - choose the furniture they'd like to rent on ENKY, from 6 to 36 months. At any moment, they can add, exchange, or remove products, depending on their needs. Buying a good is possible if it has been rented for at least 12 months.

Once their subscription ends, renters have several choices:

  • keep the furniture by renting it again
  • keep the furniture by buying it, at a pre-determined price
  • return the furniture to ENKY and terminate the rental contract.
How does investing work?

Each time a product is rented, we put it up for sale for investors. You can browse the products available for purchase on our platform.

You should always evaluate the potential gain and read the indicators before making an investment decision. We can't decide for you! When buying goods on ENKY, investors get ownership, but also access to monthly revenues generated from the rental.

You can sell your products at their current value to other investors, if you've bought them for more than 12 months.

Therefore, investing with ENKY does not only concern rented products, but also products sold by investors.

How is my rental income calculated?

When your products are rented, you get attractive monthly revenues generated from their rental. Investor revenues are received each month by transfer to a bank account, and include:

  • Interest rate of 6 to 12%: it depends on the rental duration. When the rental period is short, the interest rate increases. However, a short rental period also means that the furniture could be returned and not rented very soon.
  • Part of the principal: this part is calculated according to the present value of the product. The more the furniture is depreciated, the lower the income from the principal will be.
Investing
Why should I buy products on Enky?

As an investor, you will:

  • Receive attractive returns, from 6 to 12% each year (if your products are rented!)
  • Own high-quality furniture, with a timeless design
  • Contribute to a radical change in the furniture industry

When buying products on ENKY, you're also fighting against fast furniture. Each year in Europe, this industry generates more than 10M tons of waste...

Which kind of products can I buy on Enky?

The products offered by ENKY meet our 5 selection criteria:

  • Quality: the good must be qualitative in order to be rented for several years
  • Provenance: the good must be produced in Europe, the continent of the most beautiful forests
  • Manufacturing process: the good must be crafted with responsible processes
  • Design: the good must have a timeless design in order to be rented several times
What happens when a good is fully depreciated?

When a good is fully depreciated, it can no longer be rented. Usually, the last renter decides to own the good, without spending more money.

Otherwise, we can recycle the good to give it a second life!

What happens when a good is not rented for a certain period?

We do everything to ensure that your goods are constantly rented and do not get stored in a warehouse.

However, it's possible that your goods will not be rented during 100% of their lifetime. That's why the interest rate is higher for short rental contracts. Renters usually choose to keep their goods by either buying them or renting them again.

We'll refurbish non-rented items and try to find a new renter ASAP. Also, renting second-hand furniture is interesting for people looking for low rental payments.

If a property is not rented for more than 6 months, we put it up for sale through our network of buyers at a discount of about 30%.

The loss is therefore limited.

Revenues
Are there any entrance fees?

No. There is no entrance fee to invest in furniture.

What is the minimum ticket to invest?

We do not require a minimum amount to invest on ENKY.

However, we advise you to buy at least €10,000 of furniture in order to diversify your portfolio and reduce the risk.

Which payments methods are authorized to invest?

For the moment, we accept payments using bank transfer, SEPA direct debit, or credit card.

How should I treat my Enky investments for tax purposes?

When buying a good on the platform, the self-billing process is applied. With this process, you authorize ENKY to issue a monthly invoice on behalf and for the account of your company. This invoice includes the details of the income generated from renting your goods.

Therefore, your rental income should be considered as revenue for your company and will be taxed like any other sort of revenue.

Is my personal information secure?

We ensure that your personal information remains confidential and will be only used within a legal framework.

Risk
What is the risk of investing with Enky?

Buying products on ENKY puts your capital at risk. As an investor, you own tangible goods and only benefit from monthly revenues when these goods are rented.

We cannot guarantee that you'll enjoy constant return during the entire lifetime of your goods. However, most renters choose to extend their contract and keep the furniture.

What happens if my good is damaged?

If a renter has damaged your good, ENKY will repair or replace it ASAP.

We take care of all costs related to the repair or replacement of the furniture. As an investor, this does not affect your rental income.

What happens if my good disappears?

If your goods disappears, it cannot be rented in the future. This is a loss for the investor.

However, such cases are rare. To reduce this risk, we recommend you to diversify your portfolio by buying multiple goods.

What happens if a customer reduces the rental period?

In this case, we'll charge the customer a compensation for premature departure.

As investors, this has no impact on your rental income.

What happens if a customer does not pay or goes bankrupt?

We'll take legal action against fraudulent customers who refuse to pay for the rental on time.

The money obtained by the lawsuits is distributed to the investor. If the lawsuits are not conclusive after 3 months, ENKY takes care of recovering the furniture from the customer, in order to rent it to other renters.

If a customer goes bankrupt, we'll pick up the rented goods and try to find new customers ASAP.
